Since 1975 Karunai Illam helps the poor and downtroden people by giving free food, free dresses, free accommodation and free education. |

Temple performs free marriage to the poor and
downtrodden people with its own expense. It gives sarees, dhoties, thirumangalyam (sacred thread) to the people and offers good feast to their relatives.

One Sunday in every month temple provides free medical camp to the poor and issues free medicine from the nearby Hospital.

The temple conducts oratorical competition from 'Thirupaavai' and 'Thiruvempaavai' and offers prizes to the students. The intention of conducting this Paavai Festival is to improve bhakthi, culture, Tamil language and to spread history of Tamil people.

Every Sunday the temple offers annadhanam to its devotees. |

Temple has donated a sum of Rs.50,000 towards construction of Schedule Tribe Sutdents Hostel at Saidapet from its fund. The temple also provides financial assistance towards the construction of other temples with the permission from HR&CE Commissioner. |
